Emergency Treatment Process

Emergency Treatment Process

The Emergency Room is divided into an area for adults and an area for children. Emergency patients arriving in the ER are classified according to the severity of their condition in the Patient Classification Room and sent to the Resuscitation Room, Critical Zone, Emergency Zone A or B, or Isolation Ward for further assessment and treatment.

The order that patients receive medical care is judged by the medical staff based on their symptoms, with priority given to critical patients.

Only one guardian or legal representative is permitted to enter the ER with the patient, in accordance with Article 31-5 (Access Restrictions for Emergency Rooms) of the Emergency Medical Service Act. (However, if it is difficult for just one person to assist the patient, additional guardians/representatives may be allowed.) Those other than the designated guardian/representative of the patient are required to wait in the waiting room outside the ER.
